You may wish to use the following prayers:

A Prayer for Others

Almighty Father giver of life and health;
look mercifully on the sick and suffering,
the lonely, the anxious and bereaved.
May your blessing bring them strength,
healing and comfort. Amen.

A Prayer for Those We Love

God, our Heavenly Father,
look in love upon our families and friends. Protect them from harm, comfort them in loneliness and prosper them in all good things. May your Fatherly care shield them, the love of your dear Son preserve them from all evil, and the guidance of your Holy Spirit keep them in the way that leads to eternal life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

In Times of Doubt and Temptation

Grant to us Lord, faith which will give us victory over the world,
and victory over ourselves.
Make us strong in all temptations
and conquerors through him who loved us,
Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

When We Are Sorry for Things Done or Omitted

Lord forgive what we have been, amend what we are, and direct what we shall be; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Loving our Neighbour

God, help us today to think of the feelings of others as much as we think of our own
Help us to think before we speak, so that we may not be thoughtless or tactlessly hurt or embarrass anyone else.
If we differ with anyone help us to do so with courtesy;
if we argue with anyone, help us to do so without losing our tempers.
If we have to find fault with anyone, help us to do so with kindness;
if anyone has to find fault with us, help us to accept it with good grace.
And so help us through this day to treat others as we would wish them to treat us,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

For the Mission of the Church

God, you have given us the Good News in your Son Jesus Christ;
fill our hearts with gratitude so that we may tell other of the joy we have received.
Holy Spirit give us faith, Holy Spirit give us hope, Holy Spirit give us love.
Revive your work in our world beginning in me,
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Placing Ourselves In God’s Hands

Into your hands we commend ourselves this day; let your presence be with us until it ends.
Enable us to feel that in doing our work we are doing your will and that in serving others we are serving you;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

A Blessing

God the Father, maker of all; God the Son, born into our world;
God the Holy Spirit, strengthening and sanctifying all people;
bless, preserve and keep us, all whom we love, and all for whom we pray,
now and for evermore. Amen.
