Living Stones Heritage Trail — Llwybr Treftadaeth Meini Bywiol

Living Stones Trail logo The Meini Bywiol – Living Stones Heritage Trail was launched in May 2010 and brought to fruition our long-held vision of establishing a Visitor Trail incorporating a number of historic churches and chapels in this most beautiful part of North Montgomeryshire.
Through the Trail we are able to encourage more visitors to come to an area rich in historical interest and natural beauty which has remained largely undiscovered. The Trail seeks to enhance their experience, exploit neglected assets, contribute to rural regeneration, support local communities and raise awareness of the rich heritage of this area. In addition, we believe we have managed to create greater open access for all, whatever denomination and age, to churches and chapels as important community buildings and places of interest.
In January 2011 a Final Report on the development and establishment processes of the Trail was produced and circulated to our supporters and sponsors. A copy of this Report is available via email on request from Frances Hunt at .
In support of the Trail a leaflet has been produced, and is available at each of the sites and can also be downloaded from the Trail website
NEW for 2011 are additional leaflets at St Melangell’s, Pennant Melangell; St Dogfan’s, Llanrhaeadr Ym Mochnant (new guidebook); Capel Goffa Ann Griffiths, Dolanog, and Capel Goffa John Hughes, Pont Robert; and booklets on Capel Seion, Llanrhaeadr Ym Mochnant; Capel Sardis, Llanwddyn and Capel Pendref, Llanfyllin.
NEW from Easter 2011 at each site will be Tourist Information Folders, displaying details of amenities in each local area.
